Machu Picchu Car Tour Itinerary
Day: 1 Cusco – Hydroelectric – Aguas Calientes
Departure will be at 7:30 a.m. from the hotels to head to Ollantaytambo, enjoying the beautiful landscapes of the area. We will make a 15- to 20-minute stop. We will then continue our journey on a winding ascent toward the Málaga mountain, located at an altitude of 4,316 meters above sea level. From there, we can admire the wonderful landscape of Peruvian geography. After a brief stop, we will begin the descent into the jungle, passing through the high altitudes, observing majestic snow-capped mountains and the jungle canopy, until we reach Alpamayo.
We will follow a road in perfect condition until we reach the town of Santa María, located at an altitude of 1,575 meters above sea level. We will continue along a dirt road until we reach Santa Teresa. 2:00 pm where a delicious lunch will be waiting for us with a variation of laments 3:30 pm Continuing the trip we head in the mobility to Hidroeléctrica from where our hiking adventure through the impressive jungle will begin until we reach Machu Picchu town arriving at 5:30 pm. We will then settle into our hotel or hostel, where we will have free time to visit the Aguas Calientes hot springs.
At night, at 8:00 pm, we will have dinner, during which we will receive a talk from the guide with explanations for the tour of Machu Picchu. Overnight.
Day 2: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu Cusco
We will have the option of climbing Machu Picchu by bus or on foot. Breakfast will be served at 5:00 am. The guided tour will last an average of two hours, visiting the most important temple sites. Afterwards, we will enjoy free time to take the best photos next to the magical city of Machu Picchu.
We will return by train to Hidroeléctrica, where we will transfer to the vans to continue our return to Cusco along the same route. Arriving in Cusco at approximately 10:00 p.m.
