On June 24 of each year, in the City of Cusco the largest religious festival of the ancient Inca empire is celebrated, EL INTIRAYMI, which coincides with the winter solstice and the harvest season.

June 24, 2022: Inti Raymi – Sun Festival

Day 01: reception in Cusco – City Tour in the city of Cusco (June 23, 2022)

• Arrival in Cusco, reception and transfer to your respective Hotel
• Free morning to acclimatize to the height of Cusco and the change of Climate.
• 1:00 p.m. The Travel Agency will pass by your hotel in Cusco with your transport and your guide to start our tour of the city of Cusco.
• 13:30 p.m. We will start the city tour in Cusco, we will start visiting the Koricancha temple of the sun, Cusco Cathedral, this in the city of Cusco,
• Then we leave 3 km from the city of Cusco, starting our visit to the archaeological centers: Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara, Tambomachay,
• 18:30 p.m. Return to the city of Cusco
• Transfer to your respective hotel
• Optional: Visit to the Qosqo Center for Native Native Art (If you want to enjoy the show at the Qosqo Center for Native Art, our agency staff can accompany you)

Day 02: Inti Raymi – Sun Festival (June 24, 2022)

• Breakfast at your hotel
• 7:40 a: m As on the first day in the city of Cusco, the staff of our travel agency will stop by their respective hotel with the guide and the respective transportation to start our tour and enjoy the INTI RAYMI 2016.
• On June 24, the party in honor of the Sun god INTI RAYMI, takes place in three historical and natural settings inside and outside the City of Cusco:
• 08:00 a.m. We will meet at the Qoricancha (Golden fence): In Inca times it was the main temple consecrated to the sun. 09:30 a.m. The Plaza de Armas (the old Auqaypata or Plaza del Guerrero): During the Inca period, in this immense plaza the ceremony was fully developed in the middle of the great ushnu or ceremonial platform.
• 12:00 pm. Saqsaywaman (a voice that derives from the Quechua terms “saqsay” and “waman” that translate it into Spanish means “satiate yourself hawk”): This impressive archaeological center is located at 3,555 meters above sea level, one kilometer from the Inca neighborhood of Qolqanpata.
• Final staging – acts (Saqsaywaman)

Day 03: TOUR TO Machu Picchu (JUNE 25, 2022)

• Breakfast at the hotel in the city of Cusco
• 04:30 A.M The travel agency staff will stop by your hotel to transfer you to the Ollantaytambo station (the average duration of the trips is 1 hour and a half)
• 06:30 A.M Arriving at the Ollantaytambio train station, we will board our train heading to Aguas Calientes
• 08:14 A.M Arrival to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo)
• Our guide will be waiting for you to direct you to the sanctuary of Machupicchu and take a guided tour of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
• This program offers you the visit of the most important archaeological site in South America, Machupicchu, visit of the most important places such as: Inti Huatana, Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Three Windows, Temple of the Condor etc.
• Optional: You can also take time to climb the Huaynapicchu hill, go to the Thermal Baths in the town of Aguas Calientes (additional cost)
• After your visit to Machupicchu you will have a tourist lunch in a tourist restaurant in Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu town)
• Then you will have time to visit the artisan markets of Machupicchu.
• 6:45 p.m. We will board our Expedition train heading to the City of Cusco
• 20:18 p.m. Arrival at the train station in Ollantaytambo
• 21:40 p.m. Arrival in Cusco and Transfer to your hotel in Cusco
