Tour: Machu Picchu All-Inclusive 4 Days / 3 Nights Trip

Day 1: Cusco – Arrival in Cusco – City Tour, Sacsayhuaman, and nearby archaeological

Pickup and welcome at the airport or bus terminal, then transfer to your chosen hotel. Free morning to explore the city of Cusco. In the afternoon after lunch, we will pick you up from your hotel (2:00 PM) to begin the city tour. More than just a visit to the city, this tour will include archaeological sites located in the upper part of Cusco. the only place within the city of Cusco will be Qoricancha, known as the temple of the sun, in the Inca season this was the most important religious temple of all the Tawantinsuyu (original name of the Inca land), in this place you can find one of the finest Inca stone constructions; the next place to visit will be Saqsayhuaman located in the upper part of Cusco where we will have a beautiful view of the city of Cusco, in this place we will admire the type of cyclopean construction made by the Incas, where we will find some walls made with stones that weigh between 5 to 128 tons; Continuing our tour, we will arrive at Qenqo, another ceremonial site dedicated to Pachamama (Mother Earth). This is a natural formation that the Incas used, carved, and adapted to carry out their ceremonies. Here, it is easy to imagine how difficult their work was. Afterwards, we will continue to Pukapukara, a fort where entry control was carried out for people entering the city of Cusco. Then, we will end the tour by visiting Tambomachay, a temple dedicated to water. After visiting this site, we will return to Cusco.

Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas Tour

We will pick you up from your hotel (8:30 am) and then depart to visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas. After Machu Picchu, this is another great option to visit in Cusco for its beautiful views, its people, the artisan markets, and the incredible archaeological sites that make this tour an unforgettable place to visit. You will visit the Pisaq artisan market, where ceramics, silverware, textiles, and other works are waiting for a good buyer. After visiting this picturesque town, we will head to the top of the mountain where we will find the archaeological site with its gigantic agricultural terrace constructions and others that are still standing for more than 500 years. After visiting this place, we will continue our tour along the banks of the Wilcamayu River (Sacred River) until we reach Urubamba, where you will have free time for lunch. Then, we will continue to Ollantaytambo another Inca center, where you will find one of the few places in Cusco and Peru where people still use Inca buildings as homes, the religious part is located on the top of the mountain where the temple of the sun continues to project its grandeur; In this place we finish the tour at approximately 4:30 p.m., then we will have a little free time to continue walking in the town and take photos, or have a coffee in the different restaurants there, at 7:00 p.m. you have to be at the train station to take ours, (the train station is a 10-minute walk from the Plaza de Ollantaytambo, this is the most popular place), there, we will take our train to AGUAS CALIENTES (Machu Picchu town – 02 hours), once we arrive at this place at the door of the station they will be waiting for us with the name of the chosen lodging, arriving at the lodging we will meet the Machupicchu guide to coordinate the visit for the next day.

Day 3: Trip to Machu Picchu Day 1

We will have an early breakfast and then head to the archaeological center of Machu Picchu by bus. The bus ride lasts 25 minutes. The guide will be waiting for us at the gate of Machu Picchu. Then, we will begin the tour. You will be there for approximately 2 hours, then you will have free time until 3:00 p.m. (the park is open until 5:00 p.m.). During this free time, you have the option to visit Machu Picchu on your own. If you wish, you can climb Wayna Picchu Mountain. After free time, we will descend back to Aguas Calientes (by bus). There, you will have free time for lunch. Then, we will have to be at the train station to return. Our train leaves at 6:45 p.m. You must be at the train station half an hour beforehand. This train will take you to Ollantaytambo (2 hours). There, we will pick you up and bring you back. Bus to Cusco (1.5 hours) will arrive in Cusco at 10:30 p.m. (night in Cusco).

Day 4: Transfer to the Airport

Breakfast at the Hotel.

At the appropriate time, you will be transferred from the Hotel to the Cusco Airport.

Important Note:

The purchase of the local train ticket is personal (by order of the PERURAIL Train Company), but our Agency staff will be in charge of assisting you in obtaining the aforementioned ticket.

If the passenger desires the Tourist Train (Expedition) service, they must add USD 130.00 to their tour cost to reach Machu Picchu.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Zürich, Switzerland

We’ll meet at 4 p.m. at our hotel in Luzern (Lucerne) for a “Welcome to Switzerland” meeting. Then we’ll take a meandering evening walk through Switzerland’s most charming lakeside town, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together. Sleep in Luzern (2 nights). No bus. Walking: light.

Day 2Zürich–Biel/Bienne–Neuchâtel–Geneva

Enjoy an orientation walk of Zurich’s OLD TOWN, Switzerland’s center of banking and commerce. Then, leave Zurich and start your Swiss adventure. You’ll quickly discover that Switzerland isn’t just home to the Alps, but also to some of the most beautiful lakes. First, stop at the foot of the Jura Mountains in the picturesque town of Biel, known as Bienne by French-speaking Swiss, famous for watch-making, and explore the historical center. Next, enjoy a scenic drive to lakeside Neuchâtel, dominated by the medieval cathedral and castle. Time to stroll along the lake promenade before continuing to stunning Geneva, the second-largest city in Switzerland, with its fantastic lakeside location and breathtaking panoramas of the Alps.

Day 3Enchanting Engelberg

Our morning drive takes us from Swiss lakes to Swiss Army. At the once-secret Swiss army bunker at Fortress Fürigen, we’ll see part of the massive defense system designed to keep Switzerland strong and neutral. Afterward, a short drive into the countryside brings us to the charming Alpine village of Engelberg, our picturesque home for the next two days. We’ll settle into our lodge then head out for an orientation walk. Our stroll through the village will end at the Engelberg Abbey, a Benedictine monastery with its own cheese-making operation. You’ll have free time to wander back before dinner together. Sleep in Engelberg (2 nights). Bus: 1 hr. Walking: light.

Day 4Interlaken Area. Excursion to The Jungfrau Massif

An unforgettable trip to the high Alpine wonderland of ice and snow is the true highlight of a visit to Switzerland. Globus Local Favorite At an amazing 11,332 feet, the JUNGFRAUJOCH is Europe’s highest railway station. Jungfrau’s 13,642-foot summit was first ascended in 1811 and in 1912 the rack railway was opened. There are lots of things to do here: enjoy the ALPINE SENSATION, THE PANORAMA 360° EXPERIENCE, and the ICE PALACE. Also receive your JUNGFRAU PASSPORT as a souvenir to take home with you. The round trip to the “Top of Europe” by MOUNTAIN TRAIN will take most of the day.

Day 5Lake Geneva and Château de Chillon

It’s market day in Lausanne! Enjoy browsing and packing a picnic lunch for our 11 a.m. boat cruise on Lake Geneva. A few miles down-shore we’ll dock at Château de Chillon, where we’ll have a guided tour of this delightfully medieval castle on the water. On our way back we’ll take time to peek into the vineyards surrounding Lutry before returning to Lausanne. Boat: 2 hrs. Bus: 1 hr. Walking: moderate.
