Inca Trail Andean Adventure is a fantastic trip that shows you the two most attractive regions of South America: from the high Andes to the depths of the Amazon rainforest and on to the island of Lake Titicaca. Our most in-depth 12 days exploration of Peru, featuring mountain, jungle adventures, colonial cities and the once-in-a-lifetime Inca Trail.
This trip starts in the historical city of Cusco where you will have sufficient time to acclimatize before you start the trek to Machu Picchu; and then you will have a wonderful trip to the Jungle where a naturalist will be your guide; after that you will explore the highest navigable lake of the word- Titicaca; With overnight in Amantani island.
Very important: book Inca Trail Andean Adventure trip 3 or 4 months in advance. You must check that permits are available for the date you start the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

TOURS ITINERARY - INCA TRAIL ANDEAN ADVENTURE
Day 1: Arrive to Cusco.
Arrive in Cusco at anytime. However, we must know your flight details for your reception and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2: Sacred valley tour of the Incas.
Full day tour through stunning mountain scenery; you will visit Inca ruins and traditional markets.
Day 3 - 6: Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
Four-day trek through stone paved trail; you will visit Inca ruins and enjoy from the stunning mountain scenery. The last day you will start very early to see the sunrise at Machu Picchu. All included.
NOTE: Those passengers not able or interested in the hike the Inca trail spend 2 days in Cusco, and then travel by train to the picturesque town of Aguas Calientes with overnight. Next morning you will take the bus up to Machu Picchu entrance and meet with the hikers at the ruins. If you decide not to do the hike we need to know prior to your departure in order to obtain train tickets.
Day 7 - 9: Amazon trip.
Explore the mysteries of the Peruvian Amazon; the lodge is located in the shores of the Madre de Dios River. All included
Day 10: Cusco to Puno.
Enjoy the bus tour from Cusco to Puno and visit picturesque towns and traditional markets.
Day 11, 12 Tour to Lake Titicaca.
Discover the life of the islanders of the highest navigable lake of the word; enjoy the hikes through the Islands.
Full Itinerary - Inca Trail Andean Adventure
Day 1: Arrive to Cusco.
Arrive in Cusco at anytime. However, we must know your flight details for your reception and transfer to your hotel. There will be a briefing about the tour. On this day there is no planned activity. Walk slowly to get used to the altitude. You can do optionally our city tour program; this tour commence at 1:30pm and ends at 6:30pm; in the city tour you will have the opportunity to visit: the cathedral where there are over 400 paintings from the XVI and XVII century most of them form the Cusquenian painting school; also you will visit the Coricacha or the temple of the sun of the Incas, the Sacsayhuaman Inca fortress, Qenqo, tambomachay and Pucapucara.
Cusco is the continent's oldest continuously inhabited city; the Cusco city attracts travellers who come not just to visit a unique destination but also to experience an age-old culture very different from their 20th century way of life; this lovely Inca and colonial town offers much to the visitor with its nearby ruins, cobble-stoned streets, museums, churches and lively atmosphere. Among the more adventurous optional activities available in Images of Peru are: City tour around archaeological sites of Cusco such as Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Tambomachay and Puca Pucara; white water rafting on the Urubamba River; and mountain biking down to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Day 2: Sacred valley tour of the Incas.
The sacred valley of the Incas is called also Urubamba valley it's located near Cusco city; where the agricultural settlements and beautiful towns were concentrated since Inca times; the tour start at 8:30 when we pick you up from the hotel and travel toward the stunning valley, which was an important cradle of food for the Incas, the Sacred Valley is a lush agricultural region that continues to supply the city of Cusco with much of its produce especially with corn and vegetables. We will Visit the extraordinary Pisac Inca ruins and the colorful artisan market where you can purchase some handicrafts directly from the producers. The day trip finishes in the picturesque village of Ollantaytambo town, we also will visit the Ollantaytambo Inca ruins that are known as the best surviving example of Inca urban planning and engineering. It is admired for its huge steep terraces guarding the Inca Fortress and for being one of the few places where the Spanish lost a major battle during the conquest.
Day 3 - 6: Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
One hour morning trip to km. 82 (Pisqhqka'chu) by our tourist bus, which is the starting point of the inca trail to Machu Picchu. The local porters and guides will organize every detail for you. You will only have to carry your hand bags with snacks, water, camera, etc and enjoy the splendid mountain scenery and the fascinating Incan monuments along the route. On the final day you will climb up the steps to the sun gate to see the sunrise at Machu Picchu and surrounding Andean mountains. Later in the afternoon we will take the train along the Urubamba valley and return to Cusco, arriving there in the evening. You will be transferred to your hotel. During the trek, all meals are included and we also offer a vegetarian menu option.

Day 7 - 9: Amazon trip
After breakfast you will be transferred to Cusco airport and Fly to Puerto Maldonado, deep in the lowlands of the Amazon jungle. Once in Puerto Maldonado we will visit the city before we Travel by motorized canoe to our lodge located in the Madre de Dios River, which holds the world record for the most bird sightings in one area. Explore the jungle with local guides.
Puerto Maldonado is a city in Southeastern Peru in the Amazon forest 55 kilometers (34 ml) west of the Bolivia. Tthe 60 % of the Peruvian territory is located within the Amazon Basin, however, due to its isolation, not a lot of it is available to the casual traveler. Puerto Maldonado is the region's principal city and is serviced by air from the capital and from Cuzco. The town is situated at the confluence of the Madre de Dios and Tambopata Rivers, and is a bustling, booming tropical frontier town. Its principal activities are gold mining, Brazil nut collecting, timber extraction, agriculture and ecotourism.
If you are carrying all you belongings you can leaved hire in our office, you carry small backpack to the Lodge. After a brief stop in the town we depart on an afternoon boat trip by motorized canoe to our jungle lodge. The boat trip will be for two hours; lunch will be served upon arrival to the lodge. During our journey you will have the chance to see bird species typical of the river or forest edge such as Black Skimmers, Pied Lapwings, Capped Herons, Jabiru Storks, Roadside Hawks and several species of kingfishers, swallows, and flycatchers. The Puerto Maldonado area includes habitats ranging from the Andean highlands around the rivers' headwaters through some of the last remaining intact cloud forests to the lowland rainforests of the Amazon basin. The area is renowned for its diverse plant and animal populations and include over 1,300 bird species (including 32 parrot species - 10% of the world's total), 200 mammal species including 4 species of primates, 90 frog species, 1,200 butterfly species and 10,000 species of higher plants—all protected within the reserve. Some of the more famous residents are the Harpy Eagle, the prehistoric looking Hoatzin, tapir, peccary, jaguar, ocelot and playful river otters who live in the area's oxbow lakes.
Day 10: Cusco to Puno.
Fantastic journey through the Peruvian south lands, crossing the high altiplano. You will visit interesting places and stop along volcanic hot springs. We will arrive in the afternoon at Puno, a small city located at the banks of the highest navigatable lake of the world.
Day 11, 12 Tour to Lake Titicaca.
Visit the floating Uros Islands constructed with reeds before travelling three hours by motor boat on to Amantani Island; here you will spend a night in the home of a family; where Aymara, is the language so don't worry if you don't speak Spanish (The guide also stays on the Island and ecotourism has forced the people to learn some English but they seem to understand all your needs so don't worry).
The tour starts at 7:30 when we pick you up from Puno Hotel and transfer you to the port. We will take motor boat to Uros Islands where you can observe the lives of the Uros people who live on floating reed islands, some only 30 meters in length. From Uros Island we continue three hours boat ride to reach Amantani Island where we will break into smaller groups to stay with the local families. The next day, you have the opportunity to trek to the top of the mountain (4130m) to see the Temples of the Pachamama and Pachapapa and enjoy the traditional customs of the island people. Food and authentic music prepared and performed by your designated family. The next day; after breakfast we take a short boat ride to the neighboring Taquile Island, where we will tour around the ruins and visit these good-looking people, world famous for their intricate and fascinating weavings, lunch will served here and after lunch we take the return trip to Puno.

- Camping Equipment: We provide brand new 4 season four people capacity tents for two people, Therm-a-rest, dining room tent, kitchen tent, toilet tent, seats, tables, tent for the guides, tent for the porters, kitchen gear and backpacks, warm clothes and life insurance for the porters.

What is not Included - Inca Trail Andean Adventure
Meals: All Lunch and dinners except on the Inca trail and jungle lodge. You should consider a budget from US$15 to US$25 for each meal in an average restaurant. We will assist you with all local matters
Sleeping Bag: You can rent it from us for US$20 for the entire inca trail trek., Airport Taxes and tips for the staff.
Recommended things to take.
You must know that you can buy some clothes in the local markets; any way pack few changes of clothes in your suitcase or your big bag pack, also sleeping bag ( you can rented at SUNRISE office), mineral water one litre, rain gear or poncho (plastic poncho cam be purchase in Cusco), Hiking shoes runners and extra shoes, sandals, warm jacket or fleece and wind coot, t-shirts, shorts and long pants, sun hat and wool hat, flashlight and extra batteries, sun block and insect repellent, toilet paper and garbage bag, small towel and bathing suit (hot springs), camera, extra film and extra batteries for your camera, snacks, chocolates, energy bars, and walking steak(optional) as well the ones you thing is good for you.
Is is for me?
A wonderful trip that does not have to doubt to reserve if you want to see the wonders of Peru and their traditions; Anybody who likes to trek can do it. The Inca trail is 45 km long and a moderate 4 days hike. In this tour every one is allowed to pick its own speed and the highest point we go on this trek is 4200 meters. From there, you will be rewarded by a beautiful mountain scenery (see the reports). If you do not prefer to trek extensively, we have an alternative program by train to Machu Picchu, with an extra night in Aguas Calientes, for this option you must kindly let us know in advance. .
