Itinerary: Christmas Tour in Cusco and Machu Picchu 4 Days / 3 Nights with overnight in Aguas Calientes

Day 1: Arrival in Cusco and visit of Cusco (December 22)

Breakfast at the hotel.

A.M. Visit of tourist sites in Cusco: Temple of Koricancha, Sacsayhuaman ruins, Qenqo, Pucapucará, Tambomachay.

You will visit the archaeological sites located around the city of Cusco: the Fortress of Sacsayhuamán, a cyclopean fortress from the Inca period, is built on three superimposed platforms that have an average of 360 m. long. Tambomachay, known as the Inca baths, is considered a place of worship for water.

Later, Qenqo, it is said that it was a shrine. You will be able to observe a huge stone block of 5.90 m. high that has the appearance of a puma, in addition to passages, channels and stairways with engravings representing these animals. Finally, Pucapucará, was an administrative and military center made up of platforms, stairways, passages, towers and niches.

Transfer to the City of Cusco

Day 2: Excursion through the Sacred Valley of the Incas (December 23)

Breakfast at the hotel.

7:30 am. Our Travel Agency will pass by your hotel with transportation and our guide to start the Sacred Valley of the Incas excursion, we will go 33 km outside the city of Cusco.

The first place to visit is the archaeological group of Pisaq and its artisan market where we can appreciate their handicrafts made by them and of course take a souvenir.

Buffet lunch in one of the tourist restaurants that offers the best presentations of typical dishes from the Cuzco or Cusco region.

After your lunch visit the archaeological center of Ollantaytambo where the town remains in its splendor from when the Incas left us and have an idea of how this religious, military and cultural center was.

After the guided tour of the Sacred Valley of Cusco we will transfer to the train station where we will board our Expedition or Executive Train and go to the town of Aguas Calientes. Pick up and spend the night at the Hotel in Aguas Calientes (meeting with the guide to agree on departure time to the Machupicchu sanctuary).

Day 3: Guided Tour of the Sanctuary of Machupicchu (December 24)

Breakfast at the Hotel in Aguas Calientes.

At one hour, coordinate with the guide, we must leave the hotel to go to the Consettur Bus Station to make a 20-minute trip to the Citadel of Machu Picchu where the guide will be waiting for you.

Our guided tour will be 2 hours with the guide, after the tour each one will have time to visit Machupicchu on their own, on your visit you will be able to see Inti Huatana, Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Three Windows, Temple of the Condor, etc. (Optional) Buffet lunch at El Mapi restaurant, in the afternoon we return to Cusco via train and tourist transport from Ollantaytamob to Cusco.

Arrival in Cusco and accommodation in Hotel.

(Optional) Christmas Dinner in a restaurant in the Plaza de Armas.

Day 4: Transfer to the airport

Breakfast at the Hotel

Two hours after the flight leaves, transfer to Lima airport.
